Full form of DSP - How to become DSP Police

DSP Full form is Deputy Superintendent of Police. DSP is called Vice President of Police in INDIA. How to become a DSP

If you want to become a DSP, then you have to appear in the state level examination by the State Public Service Commission. If you pass this exam, then you have to go through Probationary Training before assuming charge as DSP and then you can become a DSP.

Educational eligibility to become a DSP

Eligibility for the post of DSP (DSP) is kept undergraduate, the candidate must pass the graduation examination while applying, the final year candidates of graduation can also participate in this examination, but the mark sheet of passing at the time of Document Verification Must be provided.

Age limit for DSP

  • General - For 21 years to 30 years
  • OBC - For 21 years to 33 years
  • Body height and chest to become DSP

To become a DSP, the male candidate should have 168 cm body height and 84 cm chest and for women 155 cm body height. Friends body height can be different according to each state.

Examination process to become DSP

The DSP exam is conducted by the State Public Service Commission, this exam is divided into three parts which are as follows.

  • Pre Examination
  • Main Examination
  • Interview

Pre Examination

The preliminary examination is the first stage to become a DSP. In this exam, 150 marks have been prescribed under the General Study and the optional subject consists of 300 marks. Friends, we would just like to tell you that you should prepare this exam very well

Main Examination

If you pass the preliminary examination, then you are allowed to appear in the main examination. Under this compulsory subject, Indian Language 300 marks, English 300 marks, Essay 200 marks, General Study 300 marks, marks for the optional subject have been set in two digits.


If you pass the Preliminary Exam and the Main Examination, then you are called for an interview. If you pass the interview then you are selected for DSP post.

A DSP is given a very good salary and a lot of allowances to the DSP with the challenge of maintaining law and order in his area. A DSP gets a salary with grade pay 5400 in the pay band 9300-34800.
